Jan is a Financial Consultant with Equitable Advisors, and is based in their Atlanta office where he serves as a managing partner of “The Business Strategies Group” of Georgia. His group's mission of assisting the owners of privately held businesses to protect, preserve, and pursue more value from their businesses more tax efficiently; is facilitated through their group's unique structure. Their team was specifically designed with the flexibility to assemble a diverse group of business planning resources, representing a broad range of disciplines, and proven strategies to address the varied and complex needs of business owners in the areas of: Business Continuity & Succession Planning, Key Employee Retention & Protection, Qualified Retirement Plans, Non-Qualified Executive Benefits, Estate Planning Strategies, “Golden Handcuff” Strategies, Employee Benefits Options, Buy/Sell Strategies, Investments, and Salary Continuation.
Jan is a credentialed Qualified Plans Specialist, Executive Group Benefit Specialist, and received his Retirement Planning Specialist certification from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Based on assets under management, Jan has also been one of the advisors selected to attend Equitable's advanced investment strategies curriculum at Harvard University.
Jan is a 17-year qualifier for the Million Dollar Round Table, and a member of Equitable's Elite Advisor Group which is a select group of financial professionals affiliated with Equitable Advisors who are distinguished as exceeding the highest standard of experience, expertise and service in the industry.
Jan earned dual degrees in Finance & Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University, MBA in Finance from Pepperdine University, and an MS in Computer Science from the Naval Post Graduate School where he completed his thesis research at the Stanford Research Institute.
As a sought after speaker on financial topics, Jan has addressed national forums such as Toyota/Lexus National Marketing Representatives annual conference, Toyota's Western Region Dealer's Meeting, National Minority Auto Dealers Association, GM's National Dealer's Meeting, NBA Retired Players Association, National Urban League's annual conference, Black Enterprise Round Table, 100 Black Men's President's Council, Morehouse School of Medicine's Alumni Association, The Links National Assembly, The National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters, and the National Association of Investment Companies.
As a community volunteer, he is a board member of Family Healthcare Centers of Georgia. He is also a member of The Atlanta Business League, The American Israel Chamber of Commerce, and a lifetime member of The National Black MBA Association.
